TE WIKI O TE REO MAORI

To celebrate Maori language week we are learning a different word every day.
On Monday our word was APOPO - this means tomorrow.
On Tuesday our word was HEIHEI -this means chicken.

Our word today is KAUMATUA. We are seeing how we can use this in a sentence...

My kaumatua is my nana and she is sick - Zoe
It is my kaumatua's birthday today - Asha
My kaumatua is my grandma and she is really nice to me - Lily F
Who are your kaumatua? - Lachlan
